Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurological disorder. Typically diagnosed in childhood, it persists throughout adulthood although symptoms may manifest differently.

Kids with ADHD may be mostly inattentive, displaying a lack of focus on tasks and conversations, frequently misplacing belongings, and often forgetting things. Others show predominantly impulsive or hyperactive symptoms. They are easily distracted, have trouble sitting still or playing quietly, cannot wait their turn, constantly  fidget or interrupt others. Many times children display a combination of these types of symptoms.

While there is no cure, therapy, and in some cases, medication can help manage symptoms of ADHD. Developing self-regulation strategies enables kids to improve   social-emotional skills and complete tasks.
